On a wonderfully sunny day, Vikings played their first 7 a side game against Dunmow Rhodes Panthers in preperation for our 2018/19 season.
The rain held off today and we welcomed Rayne Youth, who play the game as it should be. The first challenge was that I completely didnt realise that my assistant wasn't here with us this week and so Richard stepped up and was Manager for they day so I could ref the game.
Only 5 players available for this game and with the temperatures hitting 24 degrees, we had a task on our hands.
Our 1st game with all the current 10 Vikings and against, what I believe to be the best team we have played this year.
What a glorious April day to host Witham, who we know are a good side in our division. After recent players being away, were able to field 8 of our 10 Vikings.
Finally with the weather changing (at long last) a great morning with the Vikings against Heybridge. 7 of our 10 Vikings were available and following the last time we played them, we knew a challenge with the missing 3 of Angus, Cullen & William.
Meeting the Lions for the 3rd time this year meant that we know each others game, and always close. With 3 of our Vikings away the challenge was on for us.
Away to Rayne this week and a chance to see how we are developing, as Rayne always play good passing football.
Despite a late switch of pitches, the weather caused this derby to be postponed
