It was Dunmow United Sharks first League game as a newly formed team.
It was our first league game and for a couple of the boys it was their first time playing together as a team, the game itself ebbed and flowed as both teams tried to establish a lead and maintain it. The game started well for the opposition with them taking the lead, very slightly against the run of play.
The Sharks then battled back to take the lead with the honour going to Jake to score the first and second goals for the Sharks, but as the first half was drawing to a close we were unable on to hold on to the lead as the opposition managed to draw level before the half time whistle was blown.
Both teams settled down as the second half began and it become apparent that this was going to be a high scoring game.. as chances for both teams started to present themselves.
The Sharks managed to score another two goals, again scored by Jake, but wonderfully assisted by Freddie and Liam.
But the opposition rallied and levelled the score but truth be told this could have been more if not for some wonderfully saves from Jack who was playing in goal for the Sharks that day.
The opposition managed to take the lead with only a few minutes to spare, But he Sharks showed wonderful battling sprit to draw level with Elliot, Josh, and Harry providing a base in which Jake could score the goal that tied the game.
It was a wonderful start of a great journey for these boys and they should be proud of this result.. well done boys!
