The Vikings continue our great run with another convincing victory this week. Having 9 players available gave us a great opportunity to showcase the talent of nearly all the team and boy did it show. Very early on Henry smashed home a shot into the roof of the net pretty close to the halfway line and this set the tone for the game.
The vikings looked at ease, probably too much but what it enabled was more passing and calling for each other, aswell as tanacity to make an impact. Jess slotted home with a lovely left foot shot before Maksim added our 3rd with a nice slide rule finish.
Our defense was immense and snuffed out the majority of Stones attacking threats. Josh in goal had very little to do in the 1st half but when called upon played like a sweeper earning a nickname of sweeper keeper ! William was up and down the pitch as usual and deservedly got our 4th with his usual cool finishing. Bastien at the back was awesome and his speed is frightening to the opposition. He was great at stopping some of their attacks and running back offensively with the ball for us.
Going into the break comfortably, the players regrouped and were fired up to add more. Cullen forced an Own Goal early in the 2nd half , which would have been his otherwise, before William added a 6th. Cullen and Angus were great in the middle of the park and hassled and chased everything, with Cullen winning the ball and unleashing a top bin goal for us to go further ahead.
Stones grabbed one back with a fierce top bin goal from about 10 yards, although Josh did get a hand to it the closeness of the shot defeated him. Joseph who had been a threat all 1st half got his deserved goal before Stones added a 2nd with a nice finish.
Joseph reaplied for us again after a superb run from Henry down the right and delightful cross for Joseph to smash home. William joined Cullen and Henry in putting one in the top bin before a lovely dribble and side foot finish to end out the game. Awesome stuff Vikings.
