Heybridge Swift Wolves vs DUFC Vikings

Wow, what a game today, probably one of the best displays I have seen from the team collectively. The passing was at times sensational, the desire magnificent, the teamwork special and as a result, we deserdly won a game against Heybridge, who also approached the game in the same manner.
Josh, Angus, Henry, Maksim & William started with Joe (with his new kit at last !) and Cullen starting from the bench. Immediately the Vikings played the ball around and lovely to see that they now know that passing will be key to our development. They were confident and controlled and the early passing gave us some early chances but we conceeded againt the run of play.
That didn't affect us and the Vikings soon got back into it with William getting up ended when through on goal. Dusting himself off, he took a peach of a free kick into the left hand side of the goal. William quickly put us in front with some robust tackling and winnign the ball near their goal before finishing well. Angus and Henry were playing some lovely football and both snuffing out their attacks but also starting our possession strong and assured.
Angus, played a lovely ball through to Maksim and Maksim, boots on fire today finished very calmly to get his 1st fo 5 goals today ! Joe and Cullen came on and the pressure continued. Both teams getting chances but the defenses of each side were snuffing out opportunities, credit to both teams. This included some good saves from each Goalie. Joe had a lovely byline run, looked up and pulled back a wonderful pass to Maksim, who calmy finished for his 2nd goal - such good play from Joe to open up the opportunity and Maksim for finishing so well.
Maksim quickly added another, putting a solo effort in the bottom right corner. He was on the end of another great play when Joe again found him after some intricate play so we went in dominant at half time.
We did start the second half a bit slower, and to be fair I think the score was part of the reason. This did open us up a bit and Heybridge played some good passing to get a goal, beating Josh through his legs ! Cullen responded for us, strong defensively and creating more and more each week going forwards. He is hard to be pushed off the ball and protects it welll. He had a lovely stinging shot at the goalie who saved splendidly and Angus roared in to smash home the rebound. Heybridge got another couple of goals back and put some pressure on us. Sensing this threat Maksim got his 5th of the game before we got a penalty for hand ball.
Henry took it , after my call, and much to the amusement of William. Henry smashed it into the roof of the net. Nearly over, Heybridge cleverly got another before William responded with awonderfol solo effort , beating 3 players and putting bottom left side of goal. Heybridge responded before the game ended. A deserved win due to the manner in which the Vikings played.
