So fiting, Bonfire Night started with fireworks for our Vikings. On the back of last weeks win, the Vikings went into todays game full of confidence, desire and enjoyment. Having 9 of our 10 Vikings available, meant that the touch paper was well and trully lit at Kick Off.

Having spent the last few weeks, training the team on passing. moving and control, it was great to see the team concentrate on these elements to make the game play easier. We quickly went into the lead through our rapid paced defender, Bastien, latching onto a free ball and simply hammering it in the bottom corner. William, our constant threat quickly added another before a loverly corner from Henry was put away expertly by Joseph rising to bullet header the finish - our first goal from a header, awesome.

Jess, was on fire today, both following up and making wonderful breaks with the ball. She was so focused and this paid off before the break where she finished clinically and we went into the break comfortably leading. Josh in goal was loving keeping a clean sheet, coming out to clear danger and was called upon when a back pass hit the post and was on the line. Josh , sprang like a cat and smoothered it at the feet of the attacker to preserve the clean sheet.
Henry always goving an option to Josh, was our main man in collecting the ball, before controlling and finding others. Cullen was another that all game was unselfish in his play, strong tackling an constantly looking for others to bring into play. Both of these players are so critical to our central play, and do it effectively and without fuss.
Second half, we had the slope and the Vikings were buzzing. Jess still bouyed up added a 2nd and then her hat-trick, with a wondeful and purposeful run before unleasing an unstoppable drive into the bottom corner. William popped up and added another with his usual  calm finish, with his first shot coming off the post but presence of mind meant he followed up and tucked away the rebounds.
Angus, back after 2 weeks away, was all over the pitch, taking kicks to the ankles but being the class man marker that he his. He broke free and added a calm finish before William added another to complete his hat-trick and then caused an Own Goal through his consistent and pressurising play.
We still had more in us and William on a run, looked up and found Maksim had found space. Unselfishly passing, enabled Maksim to calmy slot home for a resounding victory.
Today was a great game, albeit against a new team. The players worked for each other and looked to pass and play. We could have won by even more, if we had trapped the ball more often and not let the passion overtake us. Glory is not only when we win, but how we win, especially getting ready for the tougher teams. Really proud of everyone one of them today and the improvements in each of us will bring new heights for the mighty Vikings.
