This was Barracudas’ second consecutive away match to a Broomfield team and was played on the same pitch as the previous one. The conditions for this match were very different to the last one however, with it being very wet underfoot.
Barracudas’ second match of 2019 was their third away match in succession and the first ever meeting between these two teams. With a full squad of eleven players, Barracudas began brightly and with less than a minute on the clock, opened the scoring when Josh beat a defender before firing low beyond the keeper.
Barracudas travelled to Silver End for their first match of 2019, the two teams having met just once before (almost exactly a year to the day - 7th January 2018!) in what was an exciting encounter at Laundry Lane. This time around proved to be a very even contest with some excellent football played by both teams.
Barracudas’ second match back in the Crouch Division saw them face Great Bradfords Tigers at Laundry Lane. Barracudas had only met their opponents once before and it also happened to be the very first match that the team ever played, back in September 2016. That was a high scoring affair and this match also proved to be very entertaining.
After a mid season divisional reshuffle, Barracudas opened their campaign in the Crouch Division with a home match against neighbours Dunmow Rhodes Lions.
Barracudas were up against Danbury & Bicknacre Blues for the second time this season, having already been involved in an excellent match against them on the opening day. These two sides have played a few good matches against each other over the past few seasons and this was no exception.
After an impeccably observed two minutes silence for Remembrance Sunday, Barracudas lined up against brand new opposition in Writtle Minors Athletic.
Barracudas made the journey to Chelmer Village this week to play Wilvale Rangers Spartans, who they’d met twice last season and had both been very good games. Barracudas had a squad of 10 for this match, only missing captain Jack with Josh deputising in his absence.
With a depleted squad, the Barracudas travelled to Witham this week to play Valley Green Thunder, a team they played against twice last season.
The Barracudas’ second away trip of the season saw them up against opponents they hadn’t previously met in Torquespeed Eagles who are based in Tiptree.
